(McDowell News) On Tuesday, the Marion City Council heard from some mobile home dealers and landlords who are asking that the city repeal or substantially rewrite the new rules for these kinds of dwellings. Last month, the City Council approved changing the rules that restrict where new mobile or manufactured homes could be placed in Marion and enacted additional standards for their roofs and foundations. They were recommended by the city’s Planning Board. The city identified the need to change its zoning ordinance to add new standards for the design and placement of mobile or manufactured homes within Marion. The revised rules do not apply to mobile home parks.
