(Asheville Citizen-Times) Owners of the [historic] Grove Park Inn told the inn’s nearly 900 workers their employment officially ends when the resort is sold and they must reapply for their jobs. Officials with the new managing company confirmed Wednesday that all employees would essentially be laid off as the inn changes hands, though that would not necessarily mean they would be out of work. The private equity group KSL Capital Partners of Denver confirmed this week that it has reached a deal with Sammons Enterprises to buy Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, adding the mountainside inn to a portfolio of luxury resorts.
